The book was written for people who have been told that the problem of evil is either simple or unanswerable, and who found neither claim honest. The tone is deliberately unhurried: reflection is invited, never imposed.
Every theological assertion keeps the Scripture citations of the original text. Where the argument goes beyond what Scripture states explicitly, it says so.
About the author
Rui Pereira writes on apologetics and systematic theology, with a particular interest in the problem of evil and in arguments that can be followed by readers without formal training. This essay is the result of years of study, teaching and correspondence with readers who refused easy answers.
